DERMALUX FAQ'S

Dermalux™ LED Phototherapy is a non-invasive facial treatment that uses narrow band, non-thermal LED light energy to trigger your body’s natural cell processes to accelerate rejuvenation and repair of the skin.

It’s recommended for skin rejuvenation, sun damage, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, sensitive and inflammatory conditions, wound healing and scarring as well as anyone looking to restore skin’s radiance.

What does light therapy do?

LED Light Therapy is great in every single facial to calm any areas of irritation and it’s also brilliant at brightening the skin.

When used consistently, over time, LED lights are thought to penetrate your skin at different depths and cause various reactions in your skin, such as fighting acne-causing bacteria, plumping skin and reducing wrinkles.
A course of treatments offers corrective and long-lasting results, although you’ll be able to see a difference after the first session.

What are the benefits of light therapy?
Light therapy for the skin can speed up wound healing and improve skin conditions such as rosacea or dermatitis. It’s also used to improve acne and as anti-ageing device.

How Does Light Therapy work?
LED Light Therapy uses colour wavelengths of visible light which have specific skin benefits. As a result of ageing, skin disorders or trauma, healthy skin cells are compromised and unable to renew themselves normally.
The skin uses the light as a source of energy to fuel the repair and rejuvenation of damaged cells, or, in the case of treating acne, kill bacteria. The energy stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, boosts circulation and accelerates tissue repair. During the treatment, you’ll simply lie underneath a light screen while the device does all the work.

What types of light are there and what do they do?

BLUE LIGHT

This is a powerful antibacterial properties for the treatment of acne without irritation, reduces oil production, prevents future breakout and offers a UV-free alternative for the treatment of eczema and psoriasis.

RED LIGHT

This increases natural hydration levels, reduced redness and inflammation, shrinks the appearance of pores, regulates oil production, improves circulation, accelerates skin repair as is a medically-approved treatment for rosacea.

NEAR INFRA-RED LIGHT
This is the most deeply absorbed wavelength, it increases cell permeability and absorption, smooths lines and wrinkles, improves elasticity, reduces pain and inflammation, accelerates wound healing and heals cystic acne.

How long does it take to work?
You can see results from the first treatment, however we would recommend a minimum course of eight. If you would like to super charge your skin for specific skin concerns, an intensive course of twelve treatments is advised close together.

What skin types should try light therapy?
Light therapy is good for all skin types, literally everyone, and incredible for rosacea.

Does it hurt?
No, LED light therapy is completely non-invasive and does not hurt. All you'll feel is a tiny bit of warmth.

Can you get a tan from light therapy?
Light Therapy doesn't use UV light so there's no risk of tanning whatsoever.

How much does it cost?
We offer a complimentary session so you can see if its something you can work into your skin care regime this can be booked HERE

After that we recommend a course of 8 at £300 but we can also quote for single sessions too.

CACI FAQ'S

What is microcurrent?
Microcurrent therapy delivers tiny electrical impulses that mirror the body’s own natural bioelectrical field. Microcurrent stimulation helps to re-educate the muscles and can lift, firm and tone. Microcurrent in aesthetics is commonly described as “facial toning” or “non-surgical face lifting” due to the dramatic lifting effect that it has on facial muscles and contours.

What is S.P.E.D™ microcurrent LED technology?
S.P.E.D™ (Simultaneous Photo Electrical Delivery) microcurrent LED technology harnesses the power of LED light therapy at the same time as using CACI microcurrent. The powerful, high brilliance LED uses pulsed and continuous wave lengths for enhanced treatment results.

What does microcurrent feel like?
Microcurrent treatment is virtually sub-sensory with just a slight tingling sensation. Customers often describe it as an energised or warm sensation on the skin and is virtually painless.

Is microcurrent safe?
Yes. Microcurrent therapy was originally developed as a medical application to treat facial palsy and restore muscle tone by applying tiny microcurrent impulses to the affected muscles. Today this proven technology is now available in thousands of aesthetic clinics worldwide as a painless cosmetic treatment.

How many treatments should I have?
Although a remarkable difference is seen after the first treatment, the benefits of microcurrent are cumulative and typically a course of 10-15 treatments will be required for optimum results.

What happens after I have finished a course of treatments?
After a course of CACI Non-Surgical Facial Toning treatments you will see real improvements in how your skin looks and feels. Your facial contours will look lifted and toned with a fresher, more youthful appearance. A monthly top up treatment is then recommended to maintain results.

What happens if I stop treatments?
It’s just like going to the gym for a body workout. If you stop, the results will gradually diminish and your facial muscles may eventually return to how they were before treatments commenced.

Will there be any recovery or downtime after my treatment?
No. CACI treatments are non-invasive and gentle on the skin so there is no interruption to your lifestyle.

What is orbital microdermabrasion?

Our unique crystal-free microdermabrasion offers a precise and controlled skin exfoliation. The procedure diminishes fine lines and imperfections to achieve a smoother, more radiant complexion. The treatment combines orbital skin resurfacing, which is unique in the market, with LED light therapy to provide a gentle peel for sensitive skin or a deeper peel for thicker, sun damaged skin.

What does orbital microdermabrasion feel like?
The treatment doesn’t hurt at all. We use a ‘no dragging’ and ‘no pulling’ technique on the skin and simultaneous vibrations to make the treatment very comfortable.

What is ultrasonic peeling?
Our unique ultrasonic peeling handpiece rapidly vibrates on the skin (27,000 times per second) to gently exfoliate and revitalise. The vibrations draw skin impurities to the surface and dislodge dead skin cells revealing a healthy, glowing complexion. This is a more gentle alternative to orbital microdermabrasion.

What does ultrasonic peeling feel like?
The ultrasonic peeling treatment creates a warm and energised feeling on the skin and is a very comfortable treatment.

What is LED Light Therapy?
LED Light Therapy utilises the therapeutic properties of red light and blue light to calm the skin, neutralise bacteria and reduce redness in order to help tackle acne, blemishes and scar tissue. Blue light calms the skin and destroys skin bacteria and red light stimulates new tissue growth and cellular regeneration. Combined red and blue light is extremely effective in the treatment of acne and blemishes.

How do CACI Quantum body treatments work?
CACI’s Quantum system uses faradic technology that is designed to firm and tone body muscles by using electrically conductive pads. These are placed over specific muscle groups in the target area triggering involuntary muscle contractions. A typical 20 minute stomach treatment is the equivalent of doing 360 perfect sit ups.

In what circumstances is treatment not advised?
Treatment is not advised if you have any of the following conditions: All forms of cancer, pregnancy, epilepsy, diabetes, heart condition/cardiac pacemaker, thrombosis, facial implants (if treating face), skin disease (avoid area), skin lesions, recent surgery (performed within the last 6 months), Areas being treated with Botox® (wait 3 months) or dermal fillers (wait 2 weeks) should be avoided. Note: Anti-depressants, high blood pressure and other muscle relaxants may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Vitamin A being one of the key ingredients having a corrective effect on the skin and of course anti-ageing, also helping to stimulate the natural production of elastin and collagen, something that unfortunately depletes as we age. Its most important activity is to normalise the function of the skin. It promotes the production of healthy collagen and elastin and improves the skin’s natural moisture, leading to healthy, younger looking skin.

What makes Environ different from other skin care brands?

To make significant changes in the skin, higher levels of active ingredients are needed than those found in over the counter products. Available only from salons, Environ products provide essential nutrients in sufficient doses to be truly effective.
The AVST and Ionzyme ranges are based on a unique step up programme which allows the skin to gradually acclimatise to progressively higher levels of vitamin A, resulting in a plumper, younger looking complexion.

What is the step up program?

The AVST and Ionzyme moisturisers are produced in varying strengths of Vitamin A. Clients move up through the sequence gradually, starting at 1 and progressing to 4(Ionzyme) and  5(AVST). This enables the skin to become accustomed to the increasing strengths of the active ingredients while gaining maximum long-term benefits and avoiding potential retinoid reactions. All levels contain antioxidants, including vitamin C and E, resveratrol, green tea, beta-carotene and honeybush extracts to help neutralise free radical damage.

What is the AVST range?

AVST stands for Advanced Vitamin Skin Therapy. AVST is Environs' foundation range of face and body products for everyday use. The potent combination of vitamins A, C and E along with powerful antioxidants, flavonoids and peptides protect and normalise the skin, promoting collagen production and helping address uneven skin tone.

A.N.P (ADVANCED NUTRITION PROGRAM) FAQ'S

What makes A.N.P different to any other multi-vitamins?

Advanced Nutrition Programme supplements contain nutrients in higher levels than in many other brands, which we believe can make a real difference to your skin and wellbeing while still falling well within recommended safety limits. The vitamins and minerals are scrupulously tested for quality and efficacy and are in an easily absorbable form.

When is the best time to take supplements?

It’s best to take supplements while food is in your digestive tract, so either take them with a meal, or 15 minutes before or up to 30 minutes after. Some supplements, like amino acids, may be better absorbed on an empty stomach. This will be indicated in the directions. The general rule is to always take supplements with food.

What is the best age to start taking multi-vitamins?

Anyone 16 or over can take the Advanced Nutrition Programme multi-vitamin supplements daily (eg Skin Vitality 1, Skin Vitality 2 and Pro-Vitality Formula). After age 25, it’s even more important as that’s the age at which the effects of ageing begin.

Are mega doses of vitamins bad for you?

Vitamins are active, so at high levels some may be harmful for you. It's therefore important to take them in the right quantities. The appropriate daily dosage is written on all our product labels, so as long as you don't exceed this it's very unlikely that you will experience harmful side effects. If of course you do have side effects then stop taking the supplement immediately. It's worth noting that the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) shows the minimum levels of a vitamin required to be obtained via the daily diet to stay healthy, not the maximum.

Don't you just excrete supplements though?

Water is the body’s most essential nutrient. Yet, once it has done its job it is simply excreted. Does that mean you shouldn’t drink water? The same is true for many nutrients. Supplementing vitamin C, for example, raises vitamin C levels in the blood for a few hours, then it’s excreted. During that time, however, it is used by the body for many different processes. Nutrients come and go. In between they do their work. It's also worth noting that not all vitamins are water-soluable and are stored in the body's fat cells.

Can I take a product after it's best before date?

If products are past their Best Before Date we recommend that you don’t take them because the levels of nutrients may start to deplete and the quality of the ingredients may deteriorate.

Can I take A.N.P with other medications?

If you are taking medication or are under a doctor’s care you should always check with your doctor before taking any supplements. If there are cautions for particular products, you will find this on the product page by clicking the CAUTIONS tab at the bottom.

Please note: If you are taking any medication or have an existing medical condition or concern not listed above, please consult with your doctor first.
